Patrick Brown


Patrick Brown began growing Lilium in 1998 and currently grows lilies in Midland, Michigan in USDA zone 6A. In addition to the North American Lily Society, he is also a member of the 'Royal Horticultural Society Lilies and Related Plants' group and the Michigan Regional Lily Society.

Mr. Brown gave a presentation to the North Star Lily Society about his hybridizing and seed starting efforts, and he has been asked to give a presentation to the RHS Lily Group on variability in L. michiganense during the Spring of 2023.

He has written the 3-part Polyploidy series of articles for the NALS Quarterly Bulletin publication, and also wrote an article on L. speciosum var. gloriosoides for the NALS 2007 Yearbook publication.

During his presentation to the North Star Lily Society, Mr. Brown revealed that he is trying to grow some species or crosses from every division with an emphasis on wide crosses. Following are some stats from his hybridizing efforts:
